Diane Goold is the Newspaper In Education (NIE) Director for the St. Joseph News-Press, a position she has held for more than seven years.
Prior to joining the staff of the News-Press, Mrs. Goold was an elementary teacher, teaching music at the Horace Mann Learning Center on the NWMSU campus in Maryville, MO. She also taught sixth grade classes in Chillicothe, MO and a fifth/sixth grade class in Kingston, MO.
She received her BS in elementary education with a minor in music from NWMSU in 1995.
Mrs. Goold is a member of the St. Joseph Area Literacy Coalition, a graduate of the Prairie Lands Writing Project through MWSU and member of the Clarksdale Lion’s Club. She also serves on the Missouri State Newspaper In Education planning committee.
She was included in the Who’s Who in America’s Teachers ninth edition, 2004-2005 and will be included in the Cambridge Who’s Who in Professional Women’s publication in 2007.
She and her husband Clarence live at and manage Camp Farwesta, the Community of Christ campgrounds east of Stewartsville, MO. In addition to her career, she serves as an ordained minister for the Community of Christ church in Stewartsville and enjoys playing piano, singing, writing poetry and spoiling her grandchildren, Kiera, Carver & Harrison, along with their daughter and son-in-law, Shelly & Cameron Hartl.
